What You NEED to Know To Become a Fashion Designer…

So, you want to become a fashion designer…many little girls and boys design amazing clothes in their heads and then just assume that they magically appear on people.  They don’t really think about everything else that goes along with being a fashion designer.

The same is true for us adults!

For example, you’ve got these great ideas, these gorgeous sketches.  But now what?  You want to see your clothes on people, but they have to actually be made first!  How do you accomplish that???

For starters, you might need pattern makers to assist you in creating the plan to physically make your clothing.  You’ll possibly need contacts for grading, for sourcing or how about contractors to assist you with all of those things.

But if you’re new to all of this, where do you even go to start looking?  The entire process can be quite daunting and has caused many talented would-be fashion designers to close up shop before it’s even had a chance to open for business.

There are resources out there to help you succeed, to help you make your fashion line a reality and FGI San Diego is making it easy for you!

Attend their event, The BUSINESS of Fashion-Going to Market and get not only a tour of the California Market Center in Los Angeles, but also get contacts in the expertise of pattern making, grading, sourcing, contractors and more.
