MAGIC 2012

In Events, FGI, MAGIC Fashion Trade Show on August 29, 2012 at 12:23 pm

I recently attended the MAGIC Fashion Trade show in Las Vegas, NV,  located at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.  This was my first year attending, and WOW, what an impression it made on me…so much so, that I wanted to share my experience with you.  I was one of the 100,00+ lucky enough to attend what I would call the Mecca of all fashion trade shows.  MAGIC is where the international community of apparel, accessories & footwear professionals trade information, preview trends, build their businesses, network and shop fashion unlike anywhere else in the fashion industry.  This trade show is held every February and August in Las Vegas.  Every year tens of thousands of people travel from all over the world to be apart of this fashion crazed convention! And now I know why they do.

Once I checked in and received my badge for the event, I walked into the first trade show, “PROJECT”.  As I walked in, my eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store!  Yes, it was that amazing.  The gigantic room was filled with fashion exhibitors, some brands I was familiar with, but most were very new to me.  It was all the brands I was not familiar with that really caught my attention.  Being that I’m a newer entrepreneur in fashion, viewing the various designers present their unique pieces helped me to really dig deep into my own creativity.  I walked through the extremely organized aisles, stopping at all that exhibitors that interested me.  I was able to to network with some fabulous designers, make some great business contacts, witness stunning fashion runway shows, buy pieces I feel in love with, all the while having a blast!

I later found my way to the “POOLTRADESHOW, definitely one of my favorites!  Here you can find more of the independent boutique retailers. Also, this was one of the trade shows that allowed “cash & carry”, an option to buy right there & walk away with your product….an option I took full advantage of! I also attended, “SLATE”, “STREET” , and “MENS/WEAR”.  Each trade show having their own niche in the fashion world.

MAGIC is a must attend fashion trade show!  Especially if you are a part of or own an online clothing/accessory store, retail store/boutique,  personal shopping company or create your own fashion designs and want to share it with world.

Sad that you missed MAGIC 2012?  Don’t be.  MAGIC 2013 will be back this February 19-21st! Registration for buyers/exhibitors has yet to begin, but we will make sure to keep you updated!  In the meantime, you can check out all you missed at this years MAGIC trade show, here!

La Jolla Fashion Film Festival Blooms

In Couture, Events, La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, San Diego Model Management on July 27, 2012 at 3:52 pm

Last night the La Jolla Fashion Film Festival debuted their third season of recognizing the top 1% of fashion films in the world. International guests mingled with fashionable locals at the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, sipping clear liquids, and posing occasionally  for the press. All enjoyed 20 fashion films, featuring lovely stars from the big screen, like Kate Bosworth, up and coming international models, as well as the relatively unknown. But most exciting??!! To open the screening with the film “GIRL PANIC”, directed by Jonas Akerlund…staring none other than Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen, and Naomi Campbell. Nothing screams FASHION louder than the highly recognized icons from the glory days of the Super Model and coupled with a soundtrack from Duran Duran, the film festival officially rocked its audience into a week-end to remember.
